The driver and front-seat passenger can enjoy exceptional head- and legroom, and in the rear, this high-performance Sports Activity Coupé offers room for two passengers on seats with individual seat character and a level floor thanks to the absence of a transmission tunnel. The luggage compartment offers 570 litres of storage space which can be extended to 1,450 litres by folding down the rear-seat bench. Adaptive Drive comprises active roll stabilisation and Dynamic Drive and Electronic Damper Control (EDC). In conjunction with the M-specific set-up – 10 mm lower suspension and stiffer support springs – Adaptive Drive provides unsurpassed dynamics, comfort and safety. Body roll in the BMW X6 M is greatly reduced with steering behaviour and the effect of load alteration further optimised.

The M Dynamic Mode in Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) allows the BMW X6 M to achieve unsurpassed cornering speeds and controlled drifting. In this mode the point at which DSC intervenes to stabilise the vehicle is significantly delayed which increases drive slip for both longitudinal and transverse dynamics at all speed levels. This does not impact on safety, however: it is just a means to increase driving pleasure.

World premiere: as soon as you start the highly efficient EU5 engine, it becomes unmistakably clear that the first M TwinPower Turbo with 555 hp is not just impressive on paper. Its more than 126 hp per litre output sets standards while the patented cross-bank exhaust manifold and two Twin Scroll turbochargers guarantee maximum power flow and optimum transfer of exhaust gas energy to the turbocharger rotors. As a result, the M TwinPower Turbo unit boasts faster turbocharger response than any other Turbo engine in the world. With high torque of 680 Nm that remains constant over an extremely wide rev range, from 1,500 to 5,650 rpm, this is an astonishingly potent machine.
The advantage of the intelligent xDrive all-wheel drive system, featured in a BMW M model for the first time, lies in its ability not only to enhance traction, but also to cancel out oversteer and understeer at an early stage. It does this through the electronically controlled variable distribution of the 555 hp between the front and rear axle. This means that Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) has to cut in less frequently, bringing benefits such as higher cornering speeds. The system is set up with a rear-drive bias which means that, depending on the situation, less drive is directed to the front axle. This enables controlled drifting for the first time in an all-wheel drive vehicle. So, in extremely dynamic driving situations, the vehicle can also be steered with the accelerator.
The high-performance brake system in the BMW X6 M provides you with unlimited driving comfort whatever the situation. One touch of the brake pedal is all that is needed for the high-performance brakes to respond with perfect precision via the black enamelled aluminium brake callipers. The generously-dimensioned inner-vented brakes suppress the thrust of the BMW X6 M to record levels - with fixed-calliper 395-mm brakes on the front axle and floating-calliper 385-mm brakes on the rear axle.
M Drive enables drivers to program a host of the BMW X6 M's functions to suit their individual preferences. These functions include the Digital Motor Electronics (DME system), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Electronic Damper Control (EDC), Servotronic steering and the engine. Just one touch of the M Drive button on the steering wheel and all preselected settings are reactivated – for exceptionally comfortable or exceptionally dynamic driving.
