Agility + Elegance = Joy. The new BMW X1 formula. At first glance a compact X model, on second glance the challenge of getting to know something new. It starts with the design: rising lateral lines lend the new BMW X1 a dynamic shape, while short overhangs and a sloping rear windscreen create a sporty, elegant silhouette. At the front, the distinctively shaped bonnet and the three-eye look of the headlights make for a striking impact, while the L-shaped taillights in conjunction with the horizontal flow of lines visually broaden the rear. All told, the design of the BMW X1 has a very simple message: it is joy in material form.

Ergonomic design needs no lengthy explanation; it's something you sense immediately. That's why everything in the cabin of the new BMW X1 is geared towards one simple goal: intuitive operation with the maximum feel-good factor. The entire cockpit is oriented towards the driver and, thanks to its clear lines, guides the eyes to the road ahead. The raised seating position provides a particularly good overview, including of the interior: high-end materials, perfectly attuned colours, outstanding workmanship, and many convenient details.

A joy shared is a joy doubled. Whether on a shopping trip, a skiing holiday or a day trip with your mountain bike – the new BMW X1 covers just about everything. The rear seat bench, for example, can be split 40:20:40, so skis or snowboards can be transported while still retaining four seats. The BMW X1 can also easily handle a two-tonne trailer load. As for rear passengers, a pleasant sense of space is enhanced with tilt-adjustable seat backrests. This doesn’t just mean greater comfort, though, it can also create more luggage space.

High power output coupled with low fuel consumption. With the multi-award-winning BMW EfficientDynamics technologies, our engineers permanently ensure that our vehicles are even better prepared for the future. Among the many innovations are Brake Energy Regeneration, the Auto Start/Stop function on all four-cylinder models and the Optimum Shift Indicator in conjunction with the 6-speed manual transmission.

True to the philosophy of BMW EfficientDynamics, our engineers have developed particularly efficient engines for the new BMW X1 when it comes to the relationship between power output, fuel consumption and emissions. Two torque-rich engines with up to 150kW in the new BMW X1 xDrive23d round off the range. The new BMW X1 xDrive20d is especially economical, reducing fuel consumption to under 6.0 l/100km and thus setting new standards for optimised consumption.
